Always start out by asking what error message they are getting, if any.


Lost 2FA Code Generator

Solution
  1. First have them check if they are still logged in on a different device.
  2. If yes, tell them to submit a staff PM and a Mod+ will reply to the 2FA PM when possible.
  3. If not, contact a Mod+ as they will need to manually disable 2FA for the user.

"Invalid code" error

Solution
  1. First make sure, the code is labeled "BTN" in their authenticator app.
  2. Make sure they are entering the code without any spaces. They should enter "123456", not "123 456".
  3. Have them check if the clock on their phone and computer is current.
  4. On Android, the Google Authenticator app provides a "resync" option in the settings.
